Where to start? Well I first became interested in raw food 20 years ago. With my partner and son we moved to Cairns to start a raw food lifestyle. Back then there weren't too many people interested and it was regarded as very fringe but it didn't worry us.Armed with a few raw food books(Viktoras Kulvinskas's Survival into the 21st Century was one ) we left family and friends. For three years we lived in North Queensland, one of those years living in the Torres Straits on Horn Island, near Thursday Is.  We ate lots of fresh fruits at one stage we were almost fruitarians! Then a move back to Perth and with a change in climate came a change in lifestyle and back to cooked/raw food combo. Our son is now 22 and left to pursue his own dream and suddenly it came to me that I had an opportunity to change my eating habits. We have been taking Spirulina for over 20 years and it felt like time to go on a fast of Spirulina and raw food. It's day 8 for us and we both feel great! Although not very overweight (a bit of a tummy and love handles) I was shocked to discover that my weight was down, I had lost 8 Kilos and body feeling much better, minus the love handles and tummy. There is also a spiritual side to fasting too.... meditation is easier and deeper. Dreams are remembered and more lucid. Skin conditions disappear! Spent the past week researching organic food in Perth wow there really is alot of choice, thats a plus. Planning to go east soon and looking at Sydney, it seems like a good spot for raw food too, including restaurants and cafes. I could go on .....

 sSig_welcome Jack

Survival into the 21st Century was where I first heard about raw.  I don't know where my copy disappeared to years ago but I hope it's in good hands!  I didn't go raw till much later.

While you're in Perth, come to some of the raw potluck picnics won't you, I'll email you the details.

Love and Peace,
Rachan
